Why Doesn’t Joomla Shortcode Work In Custom HTML Module?

Why Doesn't Joomla Shortcode Work In Custom HTML Module?

If you’ve installed a plugin that allows you to use the short code function in Joomla you may run into problems using it in a Custom HTML Module.

This could be because the plugin you are using is of the type “content”. In this case you should set Content Prepare under Custom HTML Module > Options to YES.

The "Content Prepare" option for a custom HTML module processes your module's content with any Joomla plugins of type "content" that are enabled on your site. If you have plugins installed that use special code to activate them in your article content, enabling "Content Prepare" for the custom HTML module will also allow such plugins to operate on your module's content.
