How To Embed A Module In A Joomla Article

In most cases it is usual to allocate modules to module positions determined by the template. However you don't have to be limited to the module positions in the template. Using the loadposition xx command it is possible to embed a module inside an article.

This can be particularly useful if the template you are using doesn't have a module position in the sample place where you need your module to appear.

To insert a module inside an article, use the loadposition xx command, as follows:

  1. Create a module and set its position to any value that doesn't conflict with an existing template position. You can type in the position value instead of selecting it from the drop-down list. For example, use the position myposition.
  2. Assign the module to the Menu Items that contain the articles that you want the module to show in.
  3. Edit the articles where you want this module to appear and insert the text loadposition myposition in the article at the place where you want the module.
  4. NOTE: the command must be enclosed by paranthesis brackets {} for Joomla to recognise it as embedded code.
  5. Open the Plugin Manager in Extensions and locate the Content - Load Module plugin. Ensure it is enabled.
